Friendly. Inspiring. Endearing. Passionate.
These words describe Ward “FilmWard” Verrijcken the most. The way he talked about cinema, films and series always brought a smile to my face. His friendly and warm personality was always noticeable when he was enthusiastically talking about a (new) film or series he reported on, whether it was on screen or on the radio.
I was always slightly jealous of him, because his job is my dream job.
He excelled at it.
Ward’s passing is a tremendous loss for all who love the film world, but the greatest loss is for his family, friends and co-workers.
May he rest in peace.
